I don’t work on Broadway, is BroadwayLiving.com for me?

Yes, BroadwayLiving.com is for anyone who’s interested in theater or has ever had an interest in learning more about how the industry works and about the people who make their living as theater professionals.

How do I become a member of BroadwayLiving.com?

Click on the “Join Us” button on any of the pages and you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked to provide a little information.  Fill in the fields and you’re set.

Do you share or sell the information you gather?

No, you don’t have to join.  But why wouldn’t you want to?  It’s free and some of the content is only available to members of the site.

If I join, will I get lots of spam emails?

No, again we don’t share or sell the information we gather.  You will get emails from us to direct you to the exclusive content you will receive by becoming a member.  You may also get occasional emails from us to let you know about new additions to the site, news about the people featured on the site and invitations to special events and offers.

I’ve joined the site but I’m not getting the podcasts and video downloaded to my computer - what’s up?

Joining the site adds your email address to our mailing list.  That way we can keep you posted on new and exciting things that are added to the site.  It is also our way to direct you to the exclusive member content.

In order to get the podcasts and videos downloaded directly to your computer you need to subscribe to those features individually.  Go to either the podcast or video page.  Once there, click on “Subscribe”.  You’ll be directly to a second page.  You’ll want to click “Subscribe” there as well.  We apologize for the extra steps but we’re waiting for the technology to catch up with the direct and simple way we’d like to deliver our content to you.

If I subscribe to the feeds, will I get all of the current content?

You will get the latest of the downloadable content, but some things on the site are not available for download.  You’ll want to check the site often to see what’s new in the Scrapbook, check out the blog and find out what’s going on with the talent in the News section.

How do I subscribe?

Go to either the podcast or video page.  Once there, click on “Subscribe”.  You’ll be directly to a second page.  You’ll want to click “Subscribe” there as well.  We apologize for the extra steps but we’re waiting for the technology to catch up with the direct and simple way we’d like to deliver our content to you.

Can I contact BroadwayLiving.com with questions and/or suggestions?

Please do!  We encourage your feedback.  Your questions help us to identify some of the information you are interested in learning about.  In addition, your suggestions let us know what subjects you’d like to see covered.

Is it really that important to get feedback about the site?

The short answer is “yes”.  The long answer is… well, long.  But the abbreviated version is that we hope to provide insight into a world and industry that we’ve lived and worked in for many years.  Our intimate knowledge of the business occasionally causes us to assume that everyone knows certain aspects of the business we take for granted.  While we’re talking about character development, weekly reports and costume fittings; you may be wondering, “what does ‘downstage’ mean?”, “who is a ‘PSM’?” and “how do the clothes get washed?”

How can I contact someone featured on your site?

Some of the people featured on this site have their own web pages and email addresses dedicated to receiving fan mail.  We would encourage you to do a web search for the people you are interested in contacting and get in touch with them through their own sites.

Why are you guys doing this?

We love theater.  We love the community of people who gather to create living works of art.  We are fascinated, uplifted and moved when we learn about the lives and experiences of those people.  We love their stories and wanted to share them… the stories of the people who live it.
