Day 366

Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes ago BroadwayLiving.com came to life.  For those of you who don’t have a calculator on you or who aren’t Rent fans, that was one year ago today.

The site started out very humbly on that day.  When we launched the site there were only three videos, an article and one podcast.  But what was also there was the seed of the idea we had for a web site about life on Broadway: who the people are, how they got there and what it means to them to realize that dream.

Over the past year we have fed and nourished that seed and we’re very excited about how it has grown.  The web site now has a new design and look, many new features and well over a hundred videos, podcasts and articles from “the people who live it.”

It was a whirlwind year with many ups and downs but through it all what kept us going were the people.  Their stories were each so individually fascinating and yet we started to discover some common threads as we conducted our interviews.  We thought we were interviewing actors, stagehands, musicians, etc. but what we actually discovered is we were interviewing dreamers who had figured out a way to make their dreams come true.

We’re very thankful to the people who have shared their lives and stories with us.  We’re also very thankful for those of you who have made BroadwayLiving.com a part of your life.  In the end there would be no need to have this web site without your interest and support.

We’re very pleased with how far the site has come in just one year – but we want more.  As we enter year two of our development we anticipate challenges but we’re also looking forward to implementing many new features and ideas.  BroadwayLiving.com is no longer merely a seed, now it is a young sapling.  What we’re looking forward to is watching it grow into a mighty oak.
